Publishing a Book Takes More Than Writing
It takes discipline when no one’s asking. Sacrifice when no one’s watching. Years of energy you’ll never get back.
There were (very) late nights, long gaps, and doubts that stayed longer than they should have.
I’ve built a career across several disciplines and industries. Each role taught me something. Bought space to write. Shaped my instincts.
But writing was always there. Not a pastime. It was how I stayed connected to myself.
My three decades in advertising gave me more than awards, briefs, or even my own agency. They gave me access to brilliant minds. Storytellers who understood clarity, craft, and consequence. That was my training ground.
I kept writing. Quietly. Consistently. Sometimes, stubbornly.
What began as private writing is now finding its place on a larger stage. One of my short stories from my two-volume anthology "Labyrinths and Other Tangles" will join the UK’s literary community this October through its publication there.
I’m deeply grateful for the gift of writing and for everyone who’s helped me get here—friends, mentors, and those who believed when I didn’t.
To anyone just starting out: keep writing, stay honest, and trust that your voice matters.
